Some things I always like to remind parents and students
  • No medication can be on campus unless there is written authorization from the parent and a doctor.
  • Students who are sick or injured must go through the office personnel before leaving or they will be considered truant.
The cold and flu season comes with the cold weather. There are warnings that this could be a very bad year with particularly strong versions of the flu. Protect your family by encouraging your student(s) not to share, food, drinks, lipstick or balm, or anything else in which saliva might be exchanged. That, and hand washing before eating will make all the difference in keeping your household flu free. If your student has upper respiratory congestion please send them with their own supply of tissues.
The Center for Disease Control Flu Page has prevention suggestions with many things to download. Their suggestions include coughing into your elbow and frequent hand washing as good prevention techniques. It is also a good idea to stock up on tissues. Using a tissue once and throwing it away will help to not spread bacteria and viruses. Also protect your household by washing your hands as soon as you return home if you have been to a public place like a store or theater.Thank you for your assistance in getting students off campus when they are sick or injured. Things have been much better. As reminder, students need to come to the office first and call home from here. This makes the procedure go quickly and smoothly. Students who do not follow this procedure may not make contact with the parent or ride because we cannot call the classrooms while the teachers are teaching.
